New “Christ of the Deep” Statue Safe in Sculpture Park
November 17 was an exciting day for Eco Dive. We were fortunate to be part of the sinking of the new “Christ of the Deep” statue in the Sculpture Park in Molinere Bay. Read more about the new statue here. With efforts led by the Grenada Underwater Sculpture Management group (GUSMI) and assistance from Seafaris Grenada, Eco Dive and the Grenada Coast Guard, the statue is now in its new home. Check the photos below and the video.

NEW “Christ of the Deep” Statue to launch in the Sculpture Park this week!!
As part of the Bianca C 50th anniversary celebrations a local artist, Troy Lewis, created a beautiful replica of the “Christ of the Deep” statue donated by the Costa Cruise Lines to thank the Grenadian people for their generosity all those years ago in opening their homes successfully rescuing over 600 people. The ‘new’ Christ of the Deep was blessed on the anniversary weekend at the end of October and has been on display in the Careenage in St George’s since. This Thursday the statue will be moved to her new home in our very own – and the world’s first – underwater sculpture park in Molinere Bay. With efforts led by the Grenada Underwater Sculpture Management group (GUSMI) and assistance from Seafaris Grenada, Eco Dive and the Grenada Coast Guard we will be seeing this fabulous statue underwater by this coming weekend. We wish a speedy, safe and successful move to all involved. Seen below are pictures from the blessing ceremony and pictures of Christ of the Deep in his new resting place will follow soon!
