Project AWARE International Clean-Up Day with Eco Dive

A reminder to all divers, snorkelers and beach goers we are looking for volunteers to register and help with our clean up on Saturday September 25th from 9 am – 12 pm.

As part of the annual PADI Project AWARE International Clean up Day efforts we will be hosting a clean up on and offshore from Grand Anse beach.

With 15 divers already signed up from our SGUBA Club, support from Coyaba Beach Resort, a few local hands and the Montessori School committed to help we are on our way to a fantastic turn out and great results …. but, we want more …

100th dive & a marriage! Congratulations

From everyone at Eco Dive congratulations to David Winterburn on tying the knot with his lovely better half and reaching 100 dives … thankfully there was no ‘traditional’ english 100th celebration but we still managed to celebrate in style.

Junior Discover Scuba Divers – Pictures

For a second week in a row we were joined by a group through the Junior Academy Summer camp for Discover Scuba Diving and PADI Bubblemaker programs in the pool. Again assisted by our friends Jr Ad OW diver Matthew and Adv OW diver Julien.

Shark Reef – Fantastic Dive! …. pictures

So a group of advanced divers headed out with the plan for Hema 1 and Shark Reef. Well, the Hema 1 was a miss with strong currents we crawled along the bottom long enough to know we were close but not making it then did a long blue water ascent. But, shark reef was in fine form to make up for whatever we might have missed. Started with a free swimming nurse shark pup, followed by lobster clusters, spider crabs, a big nurse shark, southern sting rays and a friendly Hawksbill turtle. We were under until the air ran out and came up a very happy bunch of divers!

ScubaRadio Diving with Eco Dive August 24th 2010!!

We will be welcoming the ScubaRadio crew for a day of hiking and diving on August 24th.

The schedule: Seven-Sisters in the morning, with some diving & night diving in the afternoon, evening.

There is still room to join the fun but let us know soon to reserve your space. Great time for a night dive with the full moon, we’ve had 3 great night dives in the last 2 weeks and look forward to welcoming the gang to Eco Dive

Manta Ray in front of Eco Dive, Coyaba on Grand Anse Beach

This lovely baby manta spent the morning and early afternoon in front of Coyaba in shallow water feeding. All divers got a great view as the dive boat was pulling out for the morning 2-tank dive, and got another show on the way back in. As a reminder, these rays are completely harmless, no teeth, no barbs, no aggression, and, are simply stunning.

Diving in Dragon Bay – Pictures

A few pictures of a recent dive from Dragon Bay to Molinere/Underwater Statue Park. We got caught in a huge school of silver sides being chased by some juvenile barracudas in 15 ft of water. It was an amazing experience, especially for our three new divers along on a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience.
